RONALDO "Boyet" J. SACRO
Assistant Governor, District 3800
Rotary Year 2007-2008
ROTARY must have been written in our Assistant Governor’s destiny.
A second-generation Rotarian, Boyet was invited to the Rotary Club of Marikina West by CP Nanding Gose and became a “Golden Westerner” in August 2000. The following year he was elected as Club Secretary, served as Director in RY 2002-03 and was elected President in December 2002. He served as Club President during Rotary’s Centennial Year.
At a young age, Boyet saw and experienced the fulfillment of SERVICE and the joys of FELLOWSHIP. His involvement in Rotary dates back more than twenty years ago when his father, Charter Member Efren Sacro, invited him to join the Rotaract Club of Marikina West. He admits that Rotaract is very dear to him not only because he was a charter member but more importantly it was in Rotaract where he met a pretty and intelligent young lady, a lady who caught his sight and captured his heart… also a former Rotaractor and now Spouse Meliza ‘Liza’ Tiamzon-Sacro.
The second child in a brood of four, Boyet was born on February 21, 1964 to Efren Sacro and Elvira de Jesus. He received his primary and secondary education from the Columban priests of the Malate Catholic School in Manila. He wanted to become a doctor of medicine, but for practical reasons decided to study engineering instead. In 1985, he graduated from the Mapua Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering and passed the Board Examination the same year. A believer that life is a continuous education, he also earned certificates in computer studies & programming from the National Computer Center (NCC) in U.P. and from the Ateneo de Manila University – Computer & Technology Center (ACTC). He also pursued a post-graduate education at the De La Salle University – Graduate School of Business & Economics (DLSU-GSBE) for his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Boyet began his career in the electrical construction industry and revealed that his climb in the corporate ladder was rough and tough. From a contractual, weekly-paid draftsman he rose from the ranks until he became a Project Manager. In 1990, he made a major career decision and shifted from Construction Management to Sales & Marketing. His sales career saw him sell anything from water purifiers & softeners, fire blankets, scuba diving gears and electrical equipment. Today, he is the Country Manager of Actaris Metering Sytems (formerly Schlumberger-RMS), a position he has held since March 2000. Actaris is a global company based in France and is considered the leader in meter manufacturing and sales. In the Philippines, Actaris has an annual sales booking of about US$ 1.8M and is the preferred water meter supplier of Maynilad Water and Manila Water.
Boyet & Liza are blessed with two wonderful children, 17-year old Marielle Kriza or Macky, a 2nd year Political Science student of UST and 12-year old Renzo Miguel or Renz, a freshman of Marist School.
