Projects: Fighting Disease

The main objective of a Rotary Club is service in community, nation and throughout the world. The Rotary Club of Marikina Heights has a legacy of service in these areas going back to its chartering year, 1999. These are:

A Shot for Life - An Anti-Flu Vaccination Drive

December 17, 2021

 

The Club in partnership with Rotary Club of San Juan North, Rotary Club of Greater Marikina Valley and Marikina Maternity Clinic and Lying-In conducted an Anti-Flu Vaccine Inoculation which benefited 480 residents of Barangays Parang, Fortune and Marikina Heights.

Kalusugan at Kaligtasan: Kalinga sa Paggagamutan

December 7, 2021 – January 24, 2022

 

In this time of which common cold, cough and flu are rampant because of the cold weather. The Rotary Club of Marikina Heights in partnership with Rotaract Club of Marikina Heights, Pascual Consumer Healthcare Corporation, Office of the Vice Mayor - Marikina City and Marikina Maternity Clinic and Lying In, distributed Ascof Lagundi for cough relief and a month supply of multivitamins to boost the immune system. Around 800 people benefitted the said project.

 

Kalusugan at Kaligtasan: Tulong sa Paggagamutan

The Rotary Club of Marikina Heights giving out prescribed maintenance medicines including Amlodipine, Losartan, Metformin & Vitamin C. Beneficiaries are 18 Citizens of Barangay Marikina Heights of whom four (4) are senior citizens, others are solo parent and breadwinner who are all in need of support. This is in partnership with Rotaract Club of Marikina Heights, RCC Marikina Heights and Office of the Vice Mayor, Rotarian Dr. Marion Andres.

 

Bahaynihan: Working Together to #ProtectasOne

September 11-27, 2021

 

Funded by the District Fund, the Rotary Club of Marikina Heights together with all the clubs of Zone 4A and 4B of District 3800 in partnership with San Miguel Corporation conducted a disinfection misting project along the busy communities of Barangays San Roque and Sta. Elena, schools and churches. We also donated canisters of disinfectant to 15 barangays of Marikina City for them to disinfect houses of the victims of the Covid-19 virus.

 

Mini Tuli: Libreng Tuli sa Panahon ng Pandemya

July 3, 2021

  

With the declining number of active Covid-19 cases, and with the strict implementation of health protocols, the Rotary Club of Marikina Heights, in cooperation with other Rotary Clubs of District 3800 Zone 4A and Zone 4B, volunteer doctors and health professionals from different institutions and other stakeholders, conducted this Life Changing Mass Circumcision project to prepare young kids for the next phase of their lives. One Hundred Forty-Eight (148) boys aged 10-above left the venue smiling and have braved their rights to manhood. This project definitely marked an impact in every kid’s lives as well as their families.

 

Blood Olympics

September 28, 2019

 

The 18 Rotary Clubs in Cluster 4 of District 3800 headed by the mother club Rotary Club of Marikina and in partnership of Philippine Red Cross Marikina Chapter, conducted a bloodletting campaign in Marikina City held at the Blood Collecting Unit of Philippine Red Cross Marikina Chapter. This project was held to help the Philippine Red Cross gather more supply of blood for the immediate blood needs of the patients that were infected by the recent Dengue fever outbreak.

 

Joint Medical / Dental Mission and Operation Tuli

March 10, 2019

 

A joint project with Rotary Club of Marikina in partnership with Philippine Dental Association – Marikina Chapter, Marikina City Health Office, Philippine Red Cross – Marikina Chapter, Barangay Marikina Heights and Villa Cristina Homeowners Association conducted a medical mission and operation tuli for the less fortunate residents of Marikina Heights.
